Provenance
Tai Lue weavers are some of the most accomplished and prolific artisans in Laos. One of forty-nine officially recognized ethnic groups in Laos, the Tai Lue practice their own, distinct textile traditions. Floor looms are a staple in every village home where women learn to weave at an early age. Tai Lue women are renowned for their beautiful cotton and silk textiles and for their skill with natural dyes. This woven collection is inspired by heritage wedding blankets. The diamond pattern evokes butterflies and rice paddies to represent beauty, bounty, and fertility.
