Cows are considered sacred in Hindu culture. They have been a symbol of wealth in India since ancient days, when communities relied heavily on their milk for nourishment and their strength for farming. Cows were also considered maternal caretakers, as they graze from the earth and in turn sustain and support human life. Hindus, who believe that all living creatures have a holy soul, call the cow spirit gau mata, or mother cow. Hindus venerate mother cow after death by using all parts of the animal. Naturally shed cow horn - found in shades of cream, caramel, grey, and dark brown - is used to create jewelry, combs, and other objects for the home.

This product is made of Indian cow horn, and sealed to contain water. Created from an organic material, vases widths vary slightly from 3" to 3.5", but are uniformly 7.5" in height.
