Provenance

This bedding is inspired by our vintage Cactus Silk textiles, created by Berber people, indigenous to North Africa. Berber textiles can be identified by region and tribe, detailed with stripes and symbols. The small symbols seen here mimic traditional tattoos that adorn Berber women. The symbols have many meanings, such as longevity, fertility, protection against the evil eye, cures for illnesses, tribal association, and marital status. These textiles were traditionally made from the silk of the Sabra Cactus, but are now made from an alternate natural fiber.
