Meet our current obsession: the knock-your-socks-off, vibrant, and playful clutches from Mola Sasa. These eye-catching accessories have been photographed on the arms of Fashion Week’s it-girl attendees and featured and sold on M’oda ‘Operandi (but difficult to find most anywhere else, until this week at St. Frank… read on). We’re eyeing these accessories for every chic girl on our gift list, and we’re throwing in a few extra to keep for ourselves.

But wait, there’s more! Not only are we head over heels for the designs, but the company’s mission makes us kindred spirits. Mola Sasa is a collaboration between designer Yasmin Sabet and indigenous populations of Colombia. The company works primarily with a cooperative of 60 women artisans in the northern region of Colombia. The unique textiles used to make the accessories are called mola, handmade by women of the Kuna and Guna indigenous tribes of Colombia. They are made by layering cut out fabric on top of each other into an ornate design particular to each individual woman who is creating the cloth. Each Mola Sasa bag helps support and preserve artisanal traditions – we swoon.
