The art of block printing began in the state of Rajasthan, India in the 18th century. The process uses wooden blocks and fabric dyes to produce geometric patterns or patterns inspired by the flora and fauna of nature. First, the blocks are hand carved from seasoned teak. Then, an expert color master creates any shade, tint, tone, or hue. The blocks are dipped in the dye and imprinted on linen in a precise repeat. Finally, the linen is dried in the sun for several days to set the color. This design was inspired by the iconic architecture of the Amber Fort, located in the outskirts of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The massive compound was built during India's Mughal period. It is known for its artistic blend of Hindu and Mughal elements, showcasing the exquisite art and architecture of Rajasthan.

The block printed textile is finished with a slightly frayed edge and our signature St. Frank plate. The tablecloth is available in two sizes, small (70" x 90" and designed for a table of four) and large (70" x 108" and designed for a table of six).

Please note that as unique, handmade art, no two tablecloths are ever exactly the same and color varies across monitors. Our website photos are a close representation of this tablecloth, but may not be identical to the one you receive.
